Token Launch PR Service: What's Included From Pre-TGE to Listing
A token launch PR service runs your communications from the months before your token generation event (TGE) through listing day and the weeks after. I offer it three ways: a pre-TGE retainer at $6K to $14K per month for 3 to 6 months, a TGE launch sprint at $20K to $60K over 6 to 10 weeks, or a full launch plus 90-day tail at $45K to $120K over 4 to 6 months. All three include narrative, tier-1 media, exchange communications, KOL sequencing and compliance-aware messaging. None include price talk, guaranteed listings or paid placements dressed up as news.
That's the answer to "what do I get." The rest of this post is the detail founders usually ask for on the first call.
Why token launches need their own PR service
A token launch isn't a product launch with a ticker attached. It has a hard date you can't easily move, an audience that includes traders who'll read every word for signals, exchanges with their own announcement rules, and regulators in several jurisdictions who care how you describe the token.
Generic PR breaks on all four. A misworded tweet can read as a return promise. A leaked listing date can move a market. A KOL who doesn't disclose a paid post can create liability for you. The 2025 FTC civil penalty cap is $53,088 per violation, and that's before anyone at the SEC takes an interest.
So the service is built around one idea: the token is the least interesting part of the story. The protocol, the users, the problem it solves, and the founders are what earn coverage. The token is what you're careful about.
The three ways to buy it
| Format | Price | Duration | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-TGE retainer | $6K to $14K per month | 3 to 6 months | Teams 3 to 6 months out who need to build credibility first |
| TGE launch sprint | $20K to $60K total | 6 to 10 weeks | Teams with a date set and a narrative already working |
| Full launch + 90-day tail | $45K to $120K total | 4 to 6 months | Teams who want one operator from pre-TGE through post-listing |
Most protocols I talk to are best served by the full launch plus tail, because the hardest communications work happens after the token is live. The first 90 days post-TGE are when unlocks, price moves and community questions test whether the narrative holds. If you only fund the launch, you're unprotected for the part that's hardest.
What's included: the deliverables, phase by phase
Pre-TGE: building the reason to care
- Narrative audit and positioning: what category you lead, who you're compared to, and why now
- Messaging house with token-safe language reviewed against your counsel's guidance
- Tier-1 and trade media map across CoinDesk, The Block, Blockworks, Decrypt, Cointelegraph and Bitcoin Magazine
- Founder profiling: bylines, podcast targets, commentary on sector news
- Pre-TGE news calendar built around mainnet, testnet milestones, partnerships, ecosystem grants and data releases
- AI-search footprint check so assistants describe the protocol correctly before launch week
The pre-TGE phase is about making reporters already know your name when the TGE pitch arrives. A first-time pitch on launch week rarely lands. Reporters at tier-1 crypto outlets see dozens of TGE announcements a month. The ones they cover are usually from teams they've already quoted, interviewed or watched ship something real in the months before.
TGE window: the coordinated launch
- Embargo plan and lift timing across outlets and timezones
- Exclusive or coordinated briefing strategy, chosen on the strength of the news
- Press kit: release, FAQ, tokenomics explainer in plain language, fact sheet, founder bios
- Exchange communications aligned with each exchange's announcement process and timing
- KOL activation in three waves, coordinated with media lift
- Run-of-show for launch day, including who posts what, when, and from which account
- APAC translations and regional pickup where your community is
Post-TGE tail: holding the story
- Unlock and vesting communications prepared before the dates, not after
- Ecosystem and usage stories that move the conversation past price
- Founder op-eds and podcasts on the protocol's thesis
- Crisis holding statements for the scenarios most likely for your design
- Monthly reporting on coverage, sentiment and AI-search descriptions
For a timeline view, the 90-day pre-TGE comms plan and the post-TGE 90-day plan map these out week by week.
Exchange communications
I don't sell listings, and anyone who does is either lying or running something you shouldn't be part of. What I do is make sure your communications around a listing are accurate, timed and consistent.
| Element | What I handle |
|---|---|
| Announcement timing | Aligning your posts and media with the exchange's own announcement, never ahead of it |
| Approved language | Making sure your copy matches what the exchange has published |
| Media angle | Framing the listing inside the protocol story, not as a price event |
| Community prep | FAQ for Telegram and Discord moderators before listing goes public |
| Leak protection | Limiting who knows the date and when, with a holding line ready |
KOL waves around the TGE
Creator activation is part of the service, sequenced with the media plan rather than running beside it. I work with 200+ vetted Web3 creators across X, YouTube, Telegram, Farcaster and Lens, in three waves:
| Wave | Timing | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Credibility | T-72h | Respected technical and research voices explain the protocol |
| Broad activation | T+0 | Wider creator set amplifies the launch and media coverage |
| Sustained | T+24h | Follow-up content, tutorials and community walk-throughs |
Every creator goes through an independent fraud audit. Briefs are FTC and SEC-aware: disclosure required, no price predictions, no return language. Attribution is tracked on-chain, and for early-stage launches a healthy cost per wallet runs about $50 to $150. Deeper detail is on the KOL marketing service page.
Compliance: what I won't let you say
The most valuable thing a token launch PR operator does is sometimes deleting a sentence. These are the patterns I remove from drafts:
- Any statement or implication of expected returns, yield promises or price targets
- "Investment" framing for a token your counsel describes as a utility or governance asset
- Listing dates or exchange names before the exchange has announced
- KOL briefs without disclosure requirements written in
- Claims about regulatory status that counsel hasn't approved in writing
- Marketing aimed at jurisdictions your terms exclude
I'm not your lawyer. Every token-related line goes past your counsel. My job is to catch problems before they get that far, and to write copy that's interesting without being risky. The TGE compliance guide covers MiCA, the GENIUS Act and US guidance in more depth.
Proof: RARI Chain's 11 tier-1 placements
RARI Chain, built by the RARI Foundation as NFT infrastructure on Arbitrum, ran a global mainnet launch that landed 11 simultaneous tier-1 placements across outlets including CoinDesk, The Block, The Defiant, Cointelegraph and CryptoNews. The embargo lifted into coordinated APAC translations, so the story landed in Asian markets in their own languages within the same cycle instead of days later.
That's the shape of a good TGE window: one embargo, one lift, many outlets, multiple languages. The breakdown is in the RARI Chain case study.
Who this service fits, and who it doesn't
It fits protocols with a real product, a team that can be named, counsel already engaged, and a TGE window at least 6 weeks out. Ideally 3 to 6 months out.
It doesn't fit:
- Anonymous teams with no product and a presale as the main event
- Launches where the main ask is "pump the chart"
- Teams that want guaranteed exchange listings or guaranteed tier-1 headlines
- Projects unwilling to run token language past legal
If that's a no on all four, we'll probably work well together. Full scope and FAQs are on the token launch PR service page.
Objections, answered
"Agencies quote us $30K a month. Why are you cheaper?" Because you're paying for one senior operator, not an account team. Crypto CMOs often pay agencies $15K to $30K per month. My pre-TGE retainer is $6K to $14K, and the person on your calls is the person doing the work.
"Can we start two weeks before TGE?" You can hire me two weeks out, but what you'll get is damage control and a smaller launch. Six weeks is the minimum for a sprint I'd put my name on.
"Do you handle the KOLs or just media?" Both, in one plan, because a KOL wave that lands before the media lift can break an embargo in practice.
A token launch gets one first day. Make sure the story is ready before the chart is.
