Tools Free tool · GTM planner
GTM, planned.
A go-to-market plan for AI and Web3 startups in about two minutes. Pick your category, stage, buyer, motion and monthly budget, and the plan rewrites itself: positioning, channel mix, a 90-day plan, metrics and the risks most likely to sink it.
How to use it
- Choose the category closest to what you sell and the stage you are at today, not the one you are raising for.
- Pick the buyer who signs or swipes the card, and the motion you actually run this quarter.
- Enter a realistic monthly budget for programs and tools. The plan updates as you type.
- Download the plan as a markdown file or print it to PDF, then edit it with your own numbers.
01 · Positioning prompt
For operations, marketing, sales and finance teams who still do a repetitive, high-volume task by hand or with brittle spreadsheets, [Product] is the AI-powered workflow product that [one measurable outcome]. Unlike their current tool plus a ChatGPT tab, [Product] [the one thing you do that they cannot]. We prove it with a before and after time or cost number from a real customer workflow. Sell the founder’s point of view first, then the product.
Answer these before you lock it:
- Which job does your buyer do every week that your product removes, and how many hours does it cost them today?
- Why is "our current tool plus ChatGPT" not good enough, in one sentence a team lead could repeat to their boss?
- Which existing budget line does your product come out of, and who signs it?
- Business teams check claims through peer reviews, LinkedIn, case studies and free trials. Make sure your proof lives there.

Act as a B2B positioning strategist. I run a Seed B2B AI SaaS company selling to operations, marketing, sales and finance teams through a founder-led sales motion. Our buyers still do a repetitive, high-volume task by hand or with brittle spreadsheets. Their default alternative is their current tool plus a ChatGPT tab. They verify claims through peer reviews, LinkedIn, case studies and free trials. Ask me the 5 questions you need answered, then write 3 positioning statements in the format: For [buyer] who [problem], [product] is the [category] that [outcome]. Unlike [alternative], we [differentiator]. Score each statement on clarity, proof available today, and how hard it is for a bigger competitor to copy.

03 · 90-day plan
Focus this quarter: proving one or two channels are repeatable.
Weeks 1 to 2Foundations and measurement
- Decide who owns marketing: founder, first marketing hire, or fractional support. Write down the owner per channel.
- Interview 8 to 10 users or prospects and write down the exact words they use for the problem. These words become your headline, ad copy and SEO targets.
- Pick one workflow to lead with (not five) and rebuild the homepage hero around it with a quantified outcome.
- Build a list of 100 dream accounts and the 1 to 2 people in each who feel the problem most.
Weeks 3 to 4Core assets and first channel
- Set up basic attribution: UTMs on every link, a "how did you hear about us" field, and a CRM or spreadsheet that ties leads to source.
- Publish 4 "how to [job] with AI" pages and 2 alternative pages targeting the incumbent tool your buyers already use.
- Record a 90-second product demo of that one workflow and use it on the homepage, in sales emails and on LinkedIn.
- Founder sends 20 personal, research-backed messages a week and logs every objection word for word.
- Stand up LinkedIn organic ($3,000/mo): Founder posts 3 times a week: one customer problem story, one data point from your product, one contrarian take. Comment on buyers’ posts daily.
Weeks 5 to 8Proof and second channel
- Run one paid test with a fixed budget and a written kill rule, so you learn whether paid can work before Series A.
- Turn 2 customer conversations into short case notes with a before and after number (time saved, tickets closed, hours cut). Get written approval.
- Launch a template gallery or free mini-tool that solves a slice of the job without signup, and gate the full workflow.
- Turn the 5 most common objections into content: a post, a FAQ answer, and a slide each.
- Add SEO ($2,000/mo): Publish 8 to 12 pages that answer bottom-of-funnel queries (comparisons, alternatives, pricing, integrations) before writing any thought leadership.
Weeks 9 to 12Scale what works, cut the rest
- Write the Series A story: which 1 to 2 channels are repeatable, current CAC, and what more budget would buy.
- Run a webinar or live teardown with a partner who shares your buyer, and follow up every registrant within 48 hours.
- Audit which pages and channels created opportunities (not just signups) and cut the bottom two channels.
- Document the sales script that closed the first deals so the first sales hire can repeat it.
- Test Email ($2,000/mo): Write a 5-email onboarding sequence tied to the activation event, plus a monthly changelog email to every lead who has not converted.
- Score all 5 channels against the north-star metric. Keep the top 2, fix or cut the bottom 2, and reset the budget split for the next quarter.
04 · Metrics
B2B AI products churn when they are a novelty. Teams repeating the workflow weekly is the leading signal for renewal and expansion.
- Trial or pilot to paid conversion rate
- Seats or workspaces added per account after 60 days
- Meetings booked per week from founder outreach and content
- Repeatable pipeline or signups from the top 2 channels
05 · Top 3 risks
- Your product reads as a feature a big platform will add next quarter. Without a sharp workflow wedge and proof, buyers will wait instead of buying.
- Everything depends on the founder’s calendar. If fundraising or hiring eats their time, pipeline drops to zero within a month.
- Hiring a senior marketing leader before you know which channel works. They will build a plan for the wrong motion and you will lose 6 months.
Questions founders ask
How does the GTM planner pick channels?
Each of the 20 channels gets a fit score for your category, then the score moves up or down based on where your buyer checks claims, your sales motion, your stage and your budget. The top 5 are shown with a share of budget weighted by score.
Is a 90-day GTM plan enough for an AI startup?
Ninety days is long enough to set up measurement, ship core assets and get a real signal from two or three channels, and short enough to change course before you burn a quarter of runway. Treat it as the first cycle, then rerun the plan with your own numbers.
What budget should I enter?
Enter what you can spend on programs and tools each month, without salaries. If you are pre-seed with no budget, enter a small number and the planner will favour founder-led and organic channels over paid media.
Does the planner store my inputs?
No. Everything runs in your browser. The download and print buttons create the file on your device and nothing is sent to a server.
Want a second pair of eyes?
Bring your plan to a 30-minute teardown. I will look at your positioning, channel mix and launch timing, and tell you what I would cut first. Fractional PR retainers run $5K to $12K a month, and launch sprints run $15K to $40K.
